The preamplifier circuit 11 is a circuit for amplifying a read signal obtained from the read circuit 12 and supplying it to the control circuit 18. The read circuit 12 is a circuit for amplifying a read signal obtained from a head coil 13 and converting it into a voltage signal, and converting the voltage signal into a current signal. The head coil 13 receives a write current via the power supply circuit 14. The power supply circuit 14 is a circuit for converting a voltage Vcc into a write current which is supplied to the head coil 13. The microcomputer 15 controls the operations of the magnetic disk drive. It is configured as a microcomputer in a one-chip type.
